Heights Passive

Historic Meets Passive

Heights Passive blends historic preservation and beautiful architecture with cutting-edge high-performance design. This project features renovations to an existing home and a new two-story back house centered around the family’s pool, screened porch, and outdoor cooking areas.

Central to the project’s success is Passive House design. These best practices reduce outside noise, creates pristine indoor air quality and comfort, and ensures a bug-free home. Perhaps most importantly, the project is built for natural disaster resilience. Heights Passive is over 3 feet above ground and the construction quality creates a low energy home that is the quintessential use case for solar and battery backup.

The homeowners will have the ultimate control in shifting loads within their home during outages and have the ability to sell battery-stored electricity with the grid when ERCOT needs it most. Houston’s deregulated energy market makes renewables a unique revenue-generating resilience strategy. We’re building the use case for the (Renewable) Energy Capital of the World.
